"Tower Bridge" Oskar Kokoschka, 1925

The above is a full work and detail that has impacted me greatly. I stood in front of this work and KNEW that it was a work that my dad had spent time studying ~45 years ago and influenced him in his work. I spent my life loving his painting and the time I spent in his footsteps absorbing the pure beauty of Kokoscha's work filled me with tears, joy, and love.

I am deeply indebted to the Art Institute of Minnesota for displaying this work and allowing photography. I am also indebted to Putnam Dan McMillan whose Bequest allowed the institute to acquire this work in 1961.

"Weeping for Fall"

Pastel
(c) 2011

Just a quick pastel willow tree from my sketchbook.

Winter Barns I

Oil on Cavas, 9x12
(c) 2011

Painted outside from a picture on a WARM Christmas day. I had to paint from a picture because we had no snow.

I have fallen in love with the SourceTek panels! Great for plein air. I told my wife I am throwing away my other panels and switching to 100% Source Tek for all my oil paintings.
